THE FEDERATED EMPLOYER'S MUTUAL ASSURANCE COMPANY PROPRIETARY LIMITED (RF) (FEM)

SAFCEC has had a long and mutually beneficial relationship with the FEM and encourages members to join FEM.

For over 70 years, FEM has provided workmens’ compensation insurance for the building and construction industry. The bulk of the larger construction companies insure with F.E.M. and over 4 000 are registered with them. Essentially a service to the insurance of employers against their liabilities under the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act, 1993 (C.O.I.D.A.), F.E.M. provides insurance cover to the building and construction industry, alongside the State’s Compensation Fund, which is managed by the Compensation Commissioner. This insurance compensates employees or their dependents following injury arising from occupational accidents or illness brought on by industrial diseases. FEM has had a long and distinguished history in South Africa in the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases and their efficient and effective manner ensures client satisfaction. FEM is also a useful source of statistics to gauge safety performance in the industry and highlights focus points in terms of injuries and diseases. For more information on the benefits provided to SAFCEC members by FEM, contact their regional offices or visit their website.
