SAFCEC’s SHERQ Services offer countrywide professional support and advisory services to meet our membership’s SHERQ requirements. Our diverse membership calls for an advisory service that meets the operational requirements of our emerging members as well as a strategic service that benefits our larger, established members. We remain close to developments in best practices and legislation in order to ensure that all our members are ahead of the curve when it comes to SHERQ developments and their own operations, and operate as a single point of contact into the civils industry on all matters relating to SHERQ.
We strategically network with related organisations, government departments, initiatives and key stakeholders in the industry to remain relevant and to ensure that our members not only remain informed, but also to enable us to react to to member mandates. As such, we have been instrumental in legislative and best practice development and other tripartite initiatives such as the Construction Health and Safety Accord. SAFCEC SHERQ Services also takes advantage of a mutually beneficial relationship with the Federated Employers Mutual Association (FEM), and has representation on the Construction Health and Safety Committee of The South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP). Through this representation, SAFCEC members have first hand access to information and registrations statistics.
Through SHERQ Services, members are able to deliver a professional and safe construction service whilst also uplifting and promoting the image of civil engineering contracting in South Africa.
